Bishop Gossman, Fathers Jerry and Jonathan and the Parish Council have endorsed Sacred Heart Cathedral's participation in the Industrial Areas Foundation's (IAF) effort to assist our community with establishing a new Raleigh-area organization to identify and address a wide variety of our concerns. The IAF was invited to the Triangle Area to assist with forming this organization by a Sponsoring Committee formed by a partnership of area churches led by clergy and citizens dedicated to finding new ways to improve the lives of everyday people in our community. The goal is to build an organization that is broad-based, crossing lines of race and class, training leaders from our own community to create real social and political change. Over time, the organization will grow to actively involve a wide variety of citizen, community, and civic organizations. These concerns are being integrated into the overall
issues of the Triangle Sponsoring Committee of the IAF. For more information contact
